Dear sections,

It is our pleasure to invite you to this year’s second Skype National Platform. The meeting will be held on Thursday 4th of May 2017 at 19:00. The agenda will include at least:

- Voting on Statutes amendment proposal

- Voting on Standing Orders amendment proposal

- Electing a Partnership Manager for the NB 2017-18

- Electing a Web Project Administrator for the NB 2017-18

- Electing a Communication Manager for the NB 2017-18

- Electing the OC for NP autumn 2017

- Voting on approving ESN Laurea as a candidate section

Every section can have one connection to the call. Please register your representatives through this link.

Please also note that according to our Statutes it is mandatory to participate to all NPs or delegate the section’s vote. Every section will need to provide the NB with a delegation form by 4th of May at 18:00. You can find the forms from here. Please note that according to the Statutes approved in January the section, instead of the Student Union, should be the one delegating the vote.

All the relevant documents will be sent to the LRs before the NP skype. Hear you in couple of weeks!

Dear sections and ESNers in Finland,

ESN Finland board hereby opens the call for the new National Board for the mandate from 1.6.2017 until 31.5.2018.

The National Board members are selected in the following order, set by the Standing orders:

• President
• Vice-President
• National Representative
• Treasurer
• Partnership Manager
• Web Project Administrator
• Communication Manager

Good skills for all applicants are at least the following:

• Dedication and motivation for the task
• Good social and cooperation skills
• Fluency in English
• Ability to travel many times during his/her mandate (concerns especially the NR)
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Ability to be diplomatic and leave own personal opinions aside

Task specific information and the application form you can find in the open call documents. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the current board members.

In order to apply, please send the application form and ESN CV to board@esnfinland.eu. We want to give the sections enough time to consider the applications so we are asking you to send them to the NB by 23:59 on the 24th of February 2017.

As we all might know, finding accommodation can be difficult or, frankly, even impossible in many countries and cities and especially in capital regions. Shortage of housing and lack of interest towards short-term tenants are just some of the core issues faced in international student housing. This is where HousErasmus+, a new ESN project supported by the European Commission, comes in with an aim to improve housing situation of exchange-students.

On the 24th to 27th of November 2016, a very particular event happened in Zagreb Croatia. This was a National Boards Meeting. A whole story...

It all began with a very stressful period. Three days before... Having a glance at my emails, I noticed one from Lufthansa. Our flight to Zagreb had been cancelled!! Anni and me rebooked our ticket to another flight on the following day. But the next day, we again got an email, our flight was cancelled again! I was fortunately able to book a ticket for a third time and finally reach Zagreb.

”What if I don't understand anything they are talking about there?” ”What if they ask me something and I don't have any idea what to answer?” These we a couple of my thoughts, when I started my journey to CNR Malta. Council of National Representatives (CNR) is an international meeting of ESN, where the National Representatives of all ESN countries come to talk about strategic issues and represent the interests of their countries.

Peacebuilding through intercultural communication - that was the theme of ESN Academy 2016 edition that was held in Hungary in June in a lovely city of Szeged.

What do FInsight, Mars and neurons have in common?

Humans want to go to Mars, and ESN Finland wants to shoot for the stars. So we built FInsight: a national “rocket ship” full of the newest team building, character building, and brand building technologies, and more!

Many people found their best friends during this trip. It is a great way for the Erasmus students to spend a lot of time together, to bond and to have fun.

"As the end of the mandate was getting closer, we, reminiscing the growing pains of the year, wanted to give the next board a flying start."

A few weeks ago, Warsaw was hit by a wave of Funland spirit!

A National Platform is one of the best ESN events. If you want to meet people with similar interests, know more about ESN or you have a hug deprivation – this is a must-go.

Anna from ESN Lappeenranta visited the German National Platform in Jena and was overwhelmed by all the love and ESN spirit - not to mention the 15/100 people that had spent their Erasmus in Finland.

On the 14th of February, we here in Finland celebrate friendship. For us, today is the day when no one should feel alone.
